A life across disciplines

Care at human scale. Vision at systems scale.

I am a physician scientist cardiologist whose work moves across clinical care, research, education, innovation, equity, writing, and service. My Mayo Clinic training shaped a disciplined approach to inquiry. The people and communities I serve continue to shape the questions worth asking.

I work in general and preventive cardiology, cardio-oncology, cancer survivorship, and national virtual cardiology. Across approximately twenty-five years in research and academic medicine, I have learned to hold the individual story and the larger system within the same field of attention.

My enduring question is simple: how can knowledge become care, opportunity, stewardship, and a stronger future?

Welcome. I am Dr. Sherry-Ann Brown, MD, PhD, FACC, FAHA, a physician scientist cardiologist whose work brings together care, research, education, innovation, equity, writing, and service. I trained in the Mayo Clinic Clinician Investigator Program through Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship. My clinical focus includes general and preventive cardiology, cardio-oncology, cancer survivorship, and national virtual cardiology. Across approximately twenty-five years in research and academic medicine, I have learned to move between the intimate scale of one person and the systems that shape care for many. I am licensed as a medical doctor across all fifty states and Washington, DC. I serve as Scientific Director of Heart Spark Research and Innovation Institute and as a Clinical Associate Professor at Florida International University College of Medicine. I also guide an interconnected family of clinical, research, educational, technology, publishing, business, and service initiatives. Here, I bring hearing, discernment, response, and stewardship together so spiritual gifts can mature in Christian community through practice, accountability, and faithful service. My work is guided by strategy, curiosity, disciplined learning, connectedness, faith, and a future-facing commitment to leave people and systems stronger than I found them.
